Re-opened following pandemic restrictions

The club is open again for our regular Tuesday night dance while observing Covid 19 precautions.

Still going strong after 60 years, our weekly dance night is at 8.00pm on a Tuesday at Binley Woods Village Hall.

Visitors are always welcome on a Tuesday night, so do come along and join in.

Background Information

Coventry Thistle Club was formed in the early 1950's. It was a weekly social dance evening with a mixture of dancing, including old time, Modern Ballroom and Scottish Country dancing.

The name derives from the Thistle Restaurant which was in "Lockhurst lane" Coventry, where the club was held on a Tuesday night. The club has had a number of venues including, The Bull's Head, Binley road Coventry, the W.A.V.A Hall Baras Heath Coventry, "Stoke United Reform Church" Brays Lane and now at our current venue Binley Woods Village Hall.

The dancing is now mostly Scottish Country with the occasional couple dance thrown in for good measure.

The club now organises a number of tea dances throughout the year. Full details are available on this website so please do have a browse.
